A mixed use arts space devoted to the promotion and support of contemporary art and artists in the Sacramento region.
Hello everybody! Have I some exciting news for you! VCA is going to be having its first real show since we went through the big change.
I have more than 20 reasons for you to brave the cold weather and indulge in your crazy hobby or chosen profession of staring at walls…the VCA artists are going to be showing! The collective of artists over at Axis were kind enough to volunteer their gallery space to us this December. It was an offer we couldn’t refuse :D. Even while wading through the muck and mire of financing and city permits, art finds a way.
So, here’s a sample of work from the VCA artists to get you amped and ready for the show when it opens this Saturday:
Verge @ Axis will be open December 4 – December 19, 2010. The Preview Reception is Thursday December 9, 6:00 – 8:00pm and the Second Saturday Reception is December 11, 6:00 – 9:00pm. Axis Gallery is at 1517 19th Street, Sacramento, CA 95811. Gallery hours are Saturday and Sunday 12-5pm or by appointment. For more information see www.axisgallery.com

Untitled , Jose Luis di Gregorio, 6″x6″, Archival Print, 2010, Edition of 50
Check out this beautiful piece by Verge resident artist Jose Luis di Gregorio. It’s just one of the many great things you will score by contributing to Verge Center for the Arts Kickstarter campaign in the coming weeks.
Our campaign launched yesterday around 2pm and we are already well over $800. It is my hope that we can crack 1k by the weekend.
Help us make that a reality and more importantly, help Sacramento earn the visual arts resources it has long deserved. Let’s work together to build a better Sacto!
